Utsusemi is an elegant Japanese rose bred by Takashi Kawai in 2011. It belongs to the floribunda class.
The bush is compact, reaching 70–80 cm in height and 60–70 cm in width.
The foliage is medium-sized, matte and dark green.
The flowers are large, measuring 10–12 cm in diameter, densely double with more than 40 petals, and cup-shaped. They display a stunning gradation of beige shades that changes throughout the flowering period.
The rose produces clusters of three to five blooms. Its fragrance is very strong, combining the scent of tea rose with the gentle sweetness of vanilla and spicy notes of clove.
Flowering is repeat, lush and exceptionally abundant.
The variety is frost-hardy and has very good resistance to disease.
It is an ideal choice for anyone who appreciates Japanese elegance and beauty. This rose will make a wonderful addition to any garden or flower bed.
